I am currently a PhD student in the department of mathematical stochastics within the mathematical institute of the University of Freiburg, working under the supervision of Prof. (Dr.) Peter Pfaffelhuber.
My current research focuses on modelling TE (transposable element) abundance and their dynamics in biological systems. I am interested in stochastic processes, population genetics and mathematical modeling of biological systems. In particular I work on:
- Stochastic population genetic models; currently utilising the biparental Moran model
- Population genetics and evolutionary dynamics of TEs
- Markov processes and martingale problems
- Epidemiological modeling; I used the SIR model to investigate the impact of temperature and rainfall on malaria spread in Nigeria for my Master's thesis
